We live in Los Angeles (our address is Los Angeles), but we live out close to the beach. We live just north of LAX about 5 minutes, and live about 10 minutes from the beach. It's a pretty nice location proximity wise to things. We're close to a couple malls, the beach, Jordan's facility, the temple, and a few other things. So far, we are enjoying it out here. Mostly the weather...can I just tell you? Oh my goodness it's nice! Why did we live in Utah again? We went to a beach the other day just to get out and do something. It's not swimming weather, but we went and checked it out and the kids, well mostly Wyatt, loved it. It wasn't a private beach, but it definitely isn't a popular/populated beach. There were a few people there, but not much. We just rolled our pants up and enjoyed it.
This is what Wyatt calls wearing his jacket "like a super hero". I guess just cuz it's like a cape?
Chamberlain is totally unsure of how he feels about the beach. Sometimes he likes it, other times he does not like it at all. I think the sand is weird for him.
You can see that Wyatt likes it though
Running from the waves...who hasn't done that?
Chamberlain didn't really like the water, but still was curious
He's so happy! By the time we left his pants and undies were completely soaked. Oh well.
Jumping over waves
Again, Chamberlain is unsure...
I love this face
Burying our feet from the waves
My Mom came for a visit this past weekend. She left last night and we enjoyed having her here. She totally spoiled us. While she was here we went to Santa Monica (only about 10-15 minutes from us). We went to the Pier, and walked around the beach. It was crowded, but fun. Wyatt loved seeing all the rides on the Pier. We didn't have time to ride any, but it was still a good time.

Again Chamberlain is not liking the sand

That night Jordan had a basketball game. They played Idaho. Just before half time Jordan got an elbow to the mouth and his lip split and he literally got a hole in his lip. His tooth went completely through the lip. It also cut up and bruised his bottom lip. The inside looks worse than the outside, but the outside is still yucky. I though he got his tooth knocked out because he was holding his mouth and then he chucked something (or at least it looked like he through something). So I though he threw his tooth. But he didn't. He said it was probably just blood (which is disgusting too). Anyway, he's now got a fat lip and a nice cut on his top lip. The team sent him to a plastic surgeon and he's going back on Friday. The doctor said he should probably have surgery to fix it because it will leave a nasty, noticible scar on him for ever. That was Saturday night....he played again on Monday night and got an elbow to the mouth in the same spot AGAIN! He was pissed!! It made the cut even bigger.
Going out for tip-off
Shooting free throws
I had to post this picture because Jordan looks so small next to that guy! Jordan's not small but he definitely looks like a shrimp here. That guy is 7'5"! He was massive!
This is 2 days after he got hit. So like I said, he got hit again that night. Poor guy!
The day my mom left, Wyatt and her decorated a Gingerbread house. Wyatt had so much fun doing that with her and although he probably ate more candy than he decorated with, he still had plenty to put on the house. I kept hearing my mom say "Wyatt, stop eating the candy or you won't have any to put on your house". Plus every time I looked over, he was popping some in his mouth. Silly boy.
Putting some candy on
And eating some...
To kill some time before my Mom's flight last night we drove over to Manhattan Beach. It was beautiful and we got there just a few minutes before the sun set. I didn't have my camera but I caught a picture on my phone of the sunset. Gorgeous!
Well, that's mostly what we've been up to since we've been here...plus a few other things. We are loving it and are so greatful for this opportunity Jordan has to be playing basketball down here. We will be back to Utah for Christmas for about 10 days (me and the boys), and then back here for good.

Oh, so jealous of the nice weather. Glad you are getting settled nicely. When are you going to be in Utah... I don't have any Utah trips planned but if something came up I would love to see you.
Why couldn't this have been about a year ago?! That would be so fun to live close to you guys! GOOD LUCK to you guys with this new adventure :) I'm sure you'll love California!
